MAPRx Submits Letter Urging Congressional Action on 2020 Out-of-Pocket Cliff
Earlier today, the Medicare Access for Patients Rx (MAPRx) Coalition submitted a letter, signed by 33 member organizations, to Congressional leadership urging them to take action to address the looming increase in out-of-pocket (OOP) costs Medicare Part D beneficiaries will incur this year. This increase, known as the “OOP Cliff,” is due to the OOP threshold – the amount patients are required to pay before entering the catastrophic coverage phase of the benefit – rising by $1,250, leaving beneficiaries with already-high OOP costs to shoulder even more of the burden for their medications.
MAPRx is urging Congress to immediately act on an appropriate solution. Click here to read the full letter.
