2027 MAPRx Part D Open Enrollment Resources
During the Annual Open Enrollment Period for Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D), Medicare beneficiaries are given the opportunity to select a new plan for the upcoming year. The 2027 plan year’s open enrollment period is October 15 – December 7, 2026, with coverage beginning January 1, 2027.
Each year, there are changes to the benefits and costs of the available Medicare plans. The Medicare Access for Patients Rx (MAPRx) Coalition has put together the following resources to help beneficiaries understand the changes coming to Medicare Part D for the 2027 plan year.

2027 Changes to Medicare Part D
The Annual Open Enrollment Period will be the only opportunity for most people to make changes to the Medicare Part D plan that will cover them in the coming year. The MAPRx Coalition encourages both new and existing Medicare Part D beneficiaries to use this period to compare plan choices and find the plan that best meets their prescription drug needs at the lowest cost.
The 2027 MAPRx Part D Open Enrollment Guide is available to assist beneficiaries in selecting the plan that best meets their needs.
In 2027, Medicare Part D prescription drug plans will have an out-of-pocket maximum of $2,400. The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (MPPP) is a program beneficiaries can opt into that lets them pay for prescriptions in monthly installments. The MAPRx Coalition’s 2027 Medicare Prescription Payment Plan guide provides more information to help beneficiaries understand the MPPP program.
If you are a new or existing Medicare Part D beneficiary who has questions or needs additional support, the MAPRx Coalition’s members are here to help.
