Bill’s Story

“My name is Bill Brown and I’m 77 years old. I’ve been retired for 12 years now. I take a number of prescription medications every day. In the morning, I take 4 pills and of course I test my blood and inject insulin for my diabetes. Medicare Part D, the prescription drug benefit under Medicare, makes a big difference for me and my wife.”

“I just recently found a new drug program that’s best tailored to my needs. It’s saving me over a thousand dollars a year. When you reach a certain age, there is a great confidence that comes from knowing that there’s help there for covering the cost of prescription drugs. Every dollar counts when you’re on a fixed income. I hope the folks in Washington, our leaders in Congress, appreciate that this program Medicare Part D is working and helping people. I just hope they find a way to make it work even better.”
